Each state has its own statutory requirements for real estate deed forms. These requirements determine the content or text that is in the deed.

Deeds must meet statutory conditions for content and format. In addition, many counties add requirements for margins, paper size, property identification, and many other details. If a deed form is not in accordance with both the county and state standards, there may be additional fees charged for recording or the form may be rejected altogether.
The right form matters.

Said: Worked like a charm. No muss no fuss. One thing in Michigan there are dowager rights. After a mans name it needs to be stated that he is a single or married name. We had to hand-write it in.

Said: It seems to me on the form page 2 it has 4 ines for grantor signatures. I believe it should be 2 lines for grantor and 2 lines for grantee. thoughts??

10 out of 10 on 07/28/14

Said: I was confused about the 4 areas of signature name capacity at the bottom just before the notary signs. I had to call to see if that needed to be filled out or whether I should have others present.
