Sedgwick County Recorder Information
The recorder in Sedgwick County is responsible for recording and maintaining records related to real property situated in the County.
 
Recording Fees
For recording deeds, mortgages, or other instruments of writing-for first page (not to exceed legal size page 8 ½" x 14"): $8.00
For second page and each additional page or fraction thereof: $4.00
Recording town plats, for each page: $20.00
Recording release or assignment of real estate mortgage- for first page: $7.00
Each additional book and page listed: $5.00
For second page and each additional page: $2.00
Certificate, certifying any instrument of record: $1.00

Recording fees are subject to change, so verify the information with the local register of deeds.
 
Document Formatting Requirements
• On the top of the first page of a document, include a margin of 3 inches. On the bottom of the first page, the margin should be 1 inch. These areas are for recording information. If sufficient space is not provided, a document cover sheet will be attached. This will be counted as a page and will be included in the overall cost of the recording fees.

• On each additional page, the top and bottom margins should be 1-inch. The side margins should be at least a ½ inch.

• Paper size should not exceed legal size (8.5x14 inches).

• Documents need to be sufficiently legible to be digitally reproduced.

• Names of any signers or notary public should be printed below the signature.

• Grantee(s) name and address shall be on the deed or supplied to the Register of Deeds.
