DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS
Documents pertaining to real property records, including deeds, tax liens, and UCCs, that are presented for recording in Travis County, Texas must include the grantee’s name and address. Documents should be submitted for recording on 8.5x11 inch paper, and should not be stapled, folded, or bound together.
RECORDING FEES AND PENALTIES
The recording fee is $16 for the first page, and $4 for each additional page. If there is less than 3 inches of space at the bottom of the last page, an additional $4 will be charged. For each indexed name, in excess of 5 names, $.25 will be charged. For documents that do not meet the requirements, the charge is $3 for the first deficient page, and $2 for each additional deficient page. If the grantee’s address is missing or is not legible, there is a $32 dollar charge, or twice the recording fee.
