Together with the Home\nNetwork Foundation (homefoundation.io<\/a>), Blimp Homes has introduced an industry\nfirst: a home search platform is designed to be decentralized, user-focused and\ntransparent. It\u2019s built on the HOME Protocol \u2014 on blockchain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real estate agents are being assigned cryptographic assets\ncalled HOME tokens when they sign up with the Home Network. Buyers and sellers will\nsoon be earning HOME tokens on the Ethereum blockchain when working with others\non the Blimp platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

U.S. real estate is the starting point. The network has\nplans to expand to cover all of North America, and then go further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Why They Come: Fair Play<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the traditional world of real estate, home buyers provide\nmany personal and financial details to lenders, insurers, and real estate\nsites. They aren\u2019t paid for that data, though the information generates value\nfor the platforms they use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real estate agents, too, frequently upload information that\nthe industry turns into tools. They, too, are rarely paid for the crucial\ninformation they produce. They typically pay to use the systems their own input\nhelped to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increasingly, people who contribute to information systems\nare coming to understanding the value of their data. They might wonder why the\nplatforms they use don\u2019t acknowledge the reality that working through an online\nplatform isn\u2019t a one-way street. Many platforms do acknowledge it to their\nshareholders; but they won\u2019t change it. Traditionally, real estate companies\nposition themselves as gatekeepers to transaction data and customers\u2019 financial\ninformation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there a fairer way? HOME tokens could present a way to\ngive people more control over their own data, and help people stop giving away\ntheir information for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone Can Be Invested<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

HOME tokens are cryptocurrencies. But they\u2019re not the\nspeculative coins people buy on Binance or Coinbase. They will exist only to\nreward activities among agents, buyers and sellers registered with the HOME\nProtocol.  They will incentivize the\nmeaningful actions of agents and clients. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valuable activities include the generation of leads and\nreferrals to the platform. So, for example, agents who bring on new clients will\ncollect tokens that enable them to advertise their services. Other meaningful\ndata comes through questions and answers, searches, sales, and closing work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new model could even incentivize buyers to save, and\nstrengthen their credit profiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In short, with the HOME Protocol, clients receive\ncryptocurrency for data, and agents are rewarded for their knowledge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early adopters of this technology could become a force for\nchange in how people handle and communicate around property transactions. Needs\nfor third-party involvement could be lessened, while platform users\u2019 ability to\nfind information relevant to their sales is enhanced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HOME Protocol Backstory<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

RESAAS Services Inc., which identifies itself as the world’s largest real estate technology platform, is open to all agents from all brokerages. The RESAAS Platform<\/a> offers an online marketplace where agents can share and gain referrals. It handles various extras, like sending online gift cards to clients. It also applies artificial intelligence to study and made predictions about real estate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Home Network Foundation turned to the RESAAS platform to create its HOME Protocol cryptocurrency. The companies\u2019 strategic partnership began in 2020<\/a>, and the companies made their token agreement official in June 2021. The 450,000+ RESAAS real estate agents in the United States may all start using the HOME tokens as soon as they\u2019re available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blimp Homes, which is a RESAAS partner, worked on the\nincentivization model and the design for cryptocurrency wallets. And the Home\nNetwork Foundation will facilitate the cryptocurrency deposits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
