Turns out ChatGPT is a great marketing copywriter for the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It\u2019s Great for Writing Listings, Right?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Generative AI \u2014 the application of artificial intelligence to produce content \u2014 is famously useful in the real estate world for writing listings, estimating market values, and helping web visitors run natural-language searches. But businesses are finding AI technology helpful for a much broader range of tasks, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Budget creation and event planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.midjourney.com\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">design<\/a> and marketing materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Evolving from e-newsletters and brochures to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.synthesia.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video content<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reviewing legal documents and customizing contracts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In some cases, AI is helping small businesses manage their work on tight budgets and limited staffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re not sure where to start, you\u2019re not alone. Generative AI is new to most everybody. But an online search for tutorial videos will offer guidance with AI basics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can AI Help Me Sell or Buy a Home?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe so. One way it could help is by setting a potential buyer up with a lender \u2014 promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lending tech company Upstart is reportedly about to jump into the mortgage market. This could make quite a splash as AI crunches numbers in a way that understands the gig economy and people who have so far only rented. For even further appeal to up-and-coming generations, it also has a loan application app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mortgage market is valued at $2.7 trillion and counting. To date, it\u2019s a market filled with bottlenecks and gatekeepers. No wonder the average home loan takes more than a month to issue. This can frustrate agents and lenders along with their prospective clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But using the company\u2019s own AI model, Upstart could give the mortgage applicant an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fool.com\/investing\/2023\/05\/26\/where-will-upstart-stock-be-in-1-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">approval in 10 minutes<\/a>, and issue a loan within the week. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Are Big, AI-Focused Real Estate Companies Doing Well?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Real estate tech companies are dealing with prospective buyers\u2019 frustrations. Consider Opendoor Technologies and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deeds.com\/articles\/zillow-and-redfin-just-launched-chatgpt-plugins-for-the-perfect-search\/\">Redfin<\/a>. Both could be considered AI-focused. And both saw their stock fall by 10% or more in early August 2023, after forecasts for weak profits ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deeds.com\/articles\/?s=iBuyer\">iBuyer<\/a>, Opendoor flips houses. Now, with mortgage rates going up, it\u2019s a tough environment out there. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasdaq.com\/articles\/opendoor-technologies-nasdaq:open:-where-ai-dependency-can-go-wrong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Opendoor bet heavily on AI<\/a>, but the technology was not able to help the company cope with interest rate hikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seattle-based Redfin has faced declining revenues in 2023. The company has decided to wind down its own flipping business, RedfinNow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When interest rates go down, companies like these could start to rally. More buyers will be around. And we\u2019d see selling by some of those people who\u2019ve been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deeds.com\/articles\/holding-low-interest-loans-many-homeowners-are-too-comfortable-to-move\/\">avoiding the higher mortgage rates<\/a> by holding onto their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a rally materializes, the real estate tech companies should be well positioned to benefit from the evolution of AI by that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Could AI Help Me Get Into the Real Estate Business?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>AI platforms could turn out to be great launchpads for real estate careers.
