NAR invited 12 AI firms to its Innovation, Opportunity &amp; Investment Summit (Aug. 29\u201330, 2023, Miami).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We tried to guess who\u2019d win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">So\u2026 Were We Right?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While a dozen contestants prepared to compete in NAR\u2019s \u201cPitch Battle,\u201d we named two of the contestants as standouts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Accacia:<\/strong> This software company enables property owners and investors to perform their own analyses of their carbon footprints \u2014 and then measurably reduce them. Pardon the pun, but how cool is that?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Productive.ai:<\/strong> This software takes notes automatically when someone is speaking on the phone. It schedules and puts other pertinent information right into a professional\u2019s client management system. A must-have for today\u2019s agent, right?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And one of our two picks did, indeed, take the trophy. Productive.ai won the day. Congrats to the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, we still want to see how AI can help property owners reduce their carbon footprints. The climate-supportive mission laid out by Accacia is just too critical not to follow. After all, the impacts of emissions on the climate are&nbsp;evident in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deeds.com\/articles\/adding-climate-data-to-real-estate-listings-new-realities-for-homeowners\/\">real estate disclosures<\/a> and the rising costs of property insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">With the AI Tool, Callers Have a Real-Time Support System Right on the Phone Call<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"281\" height=\"420\" src=\"https:\/\/www.deeds.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/with-the-aI-tool-callers-have-a-real-time-support-system.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.deeds.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/with-the-aI-tool-callers-have-a-real-time-support-system.jpg 281w, https:\/\/www.deeds.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/with-the-aI-tool-callers-have-a-real-time-support-system-201x300.jpg 201w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 281px) 100vw, 281px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Pitch Battle event, NAR pointed the spotlight at new proptech (property technology) concepts that could change real estate. The event\u2019s champion tool, Productive.ai, can gather and organize key information instantaneously during phone calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A rep from Productive.ai got up on the stage and demonstrated this by acting out a call to a prospective customer. The audience watched the tool work. It even ran a search for available homes that the customer might like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That live demo wowed the Simon Cowells of NAR. Productive.ai, says NAR, deserves national recognition for the way its software will support agent success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Productive.ai won a $15,000 prize at the event. The new company will also get a free conference booth at NAR\u2019s November conference in California, \u201cThe REALTOR\u00ae Experience.\u201d (NAR defines itself as the nation\u2019s largest trade association.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI Companies in a \u201cPitch Battle\u201d: What\u2019s the Backstory?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Pitch Battle is a key draw for tech companies at NAR\u2019s Innovation, Opportunity &amp; Investment Summit (iOi Summit), a conference for agents, managers, investors, and business leaders. Innovative, mostly new companies flock to the event to have their ideas tested and promoted. (Got an innovation? Here are the <a href=\"https:\/\/ioisummit.realtor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conference details<\/a> for 2024!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A tech fund backed by NAR, called Second Century Ventures, runs the event. Second Century Ventures promotes insurance firms, title, mortgage, escrow, and various financial services, and businesses that concern properties and real estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why does NAR\u2019s strategic business arm back Second Century Ventures? Its reasons are multifaceted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Influence matters. Second Century Ventures can influence the future of NAR\u2019s industry by finding innovative creators and useful business tools for real estate agents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you can\u2019t beat tech, join it. \u201cBy investing in new and emerging technology companies,\u201d as NAR puts the point, the Association can help high-tech companies \u201caccess the industry in a way that is beneficial \u2014 rather than disruptive\u201d to NAR\u2019s interests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clients expect technological leadership. Buyers, sellers, and just about everyone who deals with a property transaction today is using technology to get it done. NAR wants its member agents to be tech savvy. The agents\u2019 clients, in turn, will expect this. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of NAR\u2019s past picks are now household names. Do DocuSign or Notarize ring a bell?
