Using Change Orders in Missouri

Plans and circumstances change. This causes frustration for those in the construction industry, where even small variations can result in substantial differences in the cost of a job.

Because of this, contractors should confirm changes in the construction contract via a Change Order. Change orders are used to modify the preexisting agreement of the parties (such as the contractor's promise to perform certain work and the customer's promise to pay for such work). Usually, changes lead to increased costs, additional time to complete the job, and possibly a change of the underlying contractual terms.

These documents identify the parties, the location, the nature of the change, and relevant dates and fees. The completed change order should be kept on file to resolve any potential disputes in regard to extra work performed and additional costs.

Had a difficult time finding my download after purchase. Thankfully I had printed the form and had. However it was read only and I'm not experienced enough to be able to change that. So I went into my word program and typed in the form. I should be able to use it for my purpose. Just glad I was finally able to find it after hours of searching online. I'm in my 70's and not real computer intelligent which may have been part of the problem

This was a seamless process. It probably took one minute to fill out my information and upload the document. It was formatted and sent immediately. It was processed the next day at the county recorders office. I have zero complaints.

Before finding this company I spent an entire day calling and leaving messages at other e-filing companies like simplfile and others but they all required subscriptions. I just needed to file a single document now and then so that was not a good fit. (And those companies I found out still require the customer to do all the work!). Deeds.com kept me informed throughout the process every step.

Was driven to this site by the county website. It took a bit of work having to create an account, etc. The example was useful; however the example only showed both parties in the same county, nor did the instructions mention anything about differing counties. This caused an oversight on my part.
