Correcting Recorded Documents in Oregon with a Re-recording Certificate
If an instrument is recorded and later found to have missing, incomplete, or incorrect information, Oregon law requires that a statutory statement referencing the prior deed -- called a re-recording certificate -- appear either on the first page of the original document or on an attached cover sheet of a re-recorded instrument (ORS 205.244). The re-recording certificate must identify the person requesting the re-recording, the specific error corrected by the re-recording, and the location where the original deed was recorded (ORS 205.244(2)).
If the re-recording certificate appears on a newly generated cover sheet, the cover sheet must meet first-page requirements under ORS 205.234(2), which include the return address, name of transaction, grantor and grantee information, the true and actual consideration for the transfer, and, if applicable, the lien amount and satisfaction.
When re-recording a certified copy of a previously recorded instrument, no alterations may be made to correct the document (ORS 205.244(3)). Instead, make the necessary correction on an attachment and include it, along with the unaltered copy and the cover sheet, and identify these attachments on the cover sheet.
Oregon does not require reacknowledgement of the deed (ORS 205.244(2)). Contact the local county clerk's office with questions related to re-recording a specific document. Re-record the deed in the same office where the original deed was recorded.

I downloaded the Lady Bird deed. The process was quick and easy to download. Just select your county, fill out the form. You will need the property description from your original deed. In my case I had to go downtown Wayne County (Detroit). (Make an appt online). 1st you will have to get the property tax certified to ensure all taxes are paid to date (5th floor at the Wayne County Treasurer office). Give them the form you just filled out and they will stamp certified $5. After that take the form to the Register of Deeds (7th floor) appt needed. $18. Make sure it is properly notarized and all signatures completed. Once approved, they will scan it, stamp it, give it back with a receipt and mail a copy also. All Done. Worked beautifully. My co worker go a lawyer and paid over $250. I just used deeds.com and total for forms and going downtown with notarizing was less than $40 Yea!

Overall positive experience; especially liked immediate access to downloaded documents and instructions. My only concern was lack of adequate space in portions of your beneficiary deed blank form which then required me to use 3 exhibits to complete all necessary documents for the county recorders office. The Executor's Guide needs more info about what to put for grantee (estate of deceased or my name as executor?) and the price (something nominal like $10?) before there is a buyer. The guide seems to use only one example.

Using the Administrators Deed, pay attention to "Exhibit A". The blank will allow you to type a full legal description BUT it will not save it. Use "Exhibit A" to type the legal description. The form was great and I filed it this morning with no problems.
