StatewideRecording fees include indexing of up to ten names and one certified copy or e-certification of the recorded document. A document recorded in both the mortgage and conveyance records is charged separately for each. A "document" includes the act and all attached exhibits, riders, powers of attorney, certificates, and surveys. Acts 2026, No. 446 enacts R.S. 13:754(F)(3), an additional $5 fee per recording applying January 1, 2027. The recording fees shown are the R.S. 13:844 fee ($100, $200, $300, and $50 for a cancellation) with the $5 LCRAA fee of R.S. 13:754 added in, which is how the clerks publish them.

Debtor Fee (No SS# CC 3352 & CCP 1922): $25 per debtor. Repossession Notice: $75. Maps/plats: standard recording fee $110. Conformed copies: $5 + copy fee. Notary fee: $10. Mortgage certificates: $20 for 1 name and 1 property, $10 each additional name, $20 each additional property, $1 each exception after 10. Clear lien certificate: $20. E-mail or fax fee: $5 for the 1st page, $1 per additional page + copy fees.

Transfer tax

None at state level. The tax is not collected by the recording office. (statewide, La. Const. art. VII, §2.3)

StatewideLouisiana levies no state transfer tax. La. Const. art. VII, §2.3 prohibits any new tax or fee on the sale or transfer of immovable property, including documentary transaction taxes, levied by the state or a political subdivision after November 30, 2011; recordation, filing, and maintenance fees are not treated as such taxes. A local documentary transaction tax that existed before that date is collected only where it applies.
