A California Interspousal Transfer Grant Deed is used to create, transfer, or terminate a real property ownership interest between spouses. This instrument applies to a present owner's interest and has been drafted to comply with the Revenue and Taxation Code Section 63.
A transfer of real property ownership interests between spouses is excluded from reappraisal under the California Constitution Article 13 A &1 et seq. and transfer taxes, as this conveyance establishes sole and separate property of a spouse (RT 11911)

Deed.com is an amazing site. After calling many places and going on many websites to figure out what I needed to submit (most counties cannot help with questions and the place I needed to turn the documents into could not help either, they are not allowed to give legal advice) I came across Deeds.com. It has been so helpful and I was able to research what documents I needed. I purchased one document and after more research I realized I needed a different document. I didn't care for it because I was having to do other things in between filling it out and all of a sudden it would not allow me back in it to make changes. Luckily I had saved it and then had to do FILL/SIGN option which looks ugly but that was the only way I could add what I needed.

The affidavit guidance was a great help and helped reduce the stress that usually comes with dealing with legalese. The Preliminary Change of Ownership that CA requires is quite complex since it covers a hoard of situations. I was left with a bit of uncertainty, but I definitely wouldn't want to try it without guidance.
