Governed by 760 ILCS 5/8.5, the certificate of trust is the document a trustee provides to a lending institution or other third party that certifies the existence of a trust and his/her authority to act on behalf of the trust.
The document presents only essential information about the trust in lieu of the actual trust document. It names the settlor of the trust and all acting trustees, as well as any successor trustees who may be named under the terms of the trust document. If there are co-trustees, it states the number of trustees required to authorize actions. In addition, the certificate identifies whether or not a trust is revocable and amendable, and who holds authority to revoke and/or make amendments. Certain information, such as the parties having a beneficial interest in the trust, remains confidential.
The recipient of a certificate of trust is not liable for any actions they may take based on false representations within the certificate (760(ILCS 5/8.5(f)). While notarization is not obligatory, a third party may require that the certification of trust be acknowledged.

The forms worked well for entering information. I have finished without much trouble. Since the forms are Adobe PDF files you need the free app to use them but you can't edit unless you have the paid Adobe program. And, it was a reasonable price.

Deeds.com recorded documents for me without any issue. It's a good service and provides a lot of assistance on its web site. However, I asked for a printed receipt (i.e. an pdf copy of one), but after a staff provided me with an obvious answer, they simply ignored my follow up requests. I also asked a simple formatting question that they should have been able to answer; instead, they passed the buck and referred me to the recorder, which currently is a very time-consuming venture. They also have no telephone number for any issue. Generally, the service saves me the time and effort of physically recording a document, but when you think about $19.00 per recording seems like a steep price for the services rendered.

So far so good. It was reasonably easy to download and complete the form using information found in my closing paperwork. I haven't yet had my form notarized but plan to do so this week and submit the packet to my county auditor.

Deeds.com was such a blessing in order for me to get something done that my lawyers could not get done. Transferring a mineral right from my deceased parents to me and my husband. Extremely helpful team of professionals who are patient when you need to get things filed correctly. Very small price for the comfort of knowing your DOCUMENTS are FILED with you local Recorder's Office. Some of the filings, if they are correctly formatted are already uploaded and official within a few hours. Here's the ALTERNATIVE you may encounter. For Example: King County Recorder's Office moved which means most filings are backed up 7-10 days if you DROP your filing in a BOX with your CHECK or MAIL IT. Neither is a great option, since they have no WALK IN HOURS.
