A Notice of Contract is not mandated by the North Carolina lien code, although a prime contractor may want to file and post a Notice of Contract because it offers additional protection by reducing the possibility of double payment. The Notice must be filed and posted within 30 days from the issuance of the building permit. N.C.G.S. 44A-23.
A second or third tier subcontractor will be prohibited from enforcing a lien when a contractor when the Notice is posted on the property and filed with the Clerk of the Superior Court.
The Notice includes: (1) the name and address of the contractor; (2) the name and address of the owner of the real property at the time the Notice of Contract is recorded; (3) a general description of the real property to be improved (such as street address, tax map lot and block number, reference to recorded instrument, or any other description that reasonably identifies the real property); and (4) the name and address of the person, firm or corporation filing this Notice of Contract. N.C.G.S. 44A-23(b)(2).

Outstanding forms and service. Liked that the main deed forms were PDF so I could fill them out on my laptop, in my own time, instead of some online Q/A auto populate system. Guide was helpful, as was the completed sample. Used the erecording service to file the deed, amazing.

This was an excellent service to amend a deed. It was a little frustrating at first, but well worth it, as they review your documents before submission to your "Recorder of Deeds" to make sure they are not rejected. Would definitely use them again.

I am not very happy about the fact that I paid 27.00 to not even have the forms filled out. I thought that it was going to be all done for me and I was told that I need a lawyer to have the form filled out properly.

Bought a transfer on death deed form and it worked great. Easy to fill out and record with the County. Got some helpful information from the county recorders office before filling out the form. I found out that I could use one deed for 2 properties. Saved me money not having to pay fees for 2 deeds.

Found the forms I needed but had to type these out my self in Word since these forms do not allow any information to be saved. I understand you want this to be proprietary information but you failed to deliver a usable product. I printed this template and built my own in microsoft word. Good examples and instructions with poor execution. I lost hours of typing and nearly lost real estate deals due to these documents not being in a format ready to use. Will be using another service next time or buying these as guides alone.
