Generally speaking a Memorandum becomes effective when recorded in the County or City, Circuit Court where the property is located. (8.01-268. (B))
The Memorandum of Lis Pendens shall contain:
(the title of the cause or attachment
the general object thereof
the court wherein it is pending
the amount of the claim asserted by the plaintiff
a description of the property
the name of the person whose estate is intended to be affected thereby,
and in an action to enforce a zoning ordinance a description of the alleged violation, shall be admitted to record in the clerk's office of the circuit court of the county or the city wherein the property is located;)(8.01-268. (A))

Deed.com is AMAZING! I only had about 2 weeks to get my quit claim deed recorded by my county office before my refinace due date approached. When I uploaded my quit claim to Deed.com I got it electronically recored by county register's office in "24 hours"!!! I downloaded the Lady Bird deed. The process was quick and easy to download. Just select your county, fill out the form. You will need the property description from your original deed. In my case I had to go downtown Wayne County (Detroit). (Make an appt online). 1st you will have to get the property tax certified to ensure all taxes are paid to date (5th floor at the Wayne County Treasurer office). Give them the form you just filled out and they will stamp certified $5. After that take the form to the Register of Deeds (7th floor) appt needed. $18. Make sure it is properly notarized and all signatures completed. Once approved, they will scan it, stamp it, give it back with a receipt and mail a copy also. All Done. Worked beautifully. My co worker go a lawyer and paid over $250. I just used deeds.com and total for forms and going downtown with notarizing was less than $40 Yea!

Well, we are 10 days from leaving the country for months and needed to notarize and record deed changes to our rental properties. We worried about USPS, UPS, DHL, etc. and hardcopies in the County's bureaucrats' hands. Soooo, we learned of Deeds.com from the County web site via one of the bulk digital recorders telling me about Deeds.com. Hit their site, read their instructions, concluded my tiny brain and decrepit abilities could handle the chore. WITHIN AN HOUR OF UPLOADING EVERYTHING INCLUDING C.C. FOR PMT IT WAS RECORDED AND I printed out copies. WORTH the $$ in speed, convenience and PEACE of mind. Pardon the loud trumpeting.
