To provide constructive notice of a pending lawsuit a Memorandum of Lis Pendens is filed when the claim brought forth (seeks to establish an interest by the filing party in the real property described in the memorandum.) Generally speaking a Memorandum becomes effective when recorded in the County or City, Circuit Court where the property is located. (8.01-268. (B))
The Memorandum of Lis Pendens shall contain:
(the title of the cause or attachment
the general object thereof
the court wherein it is pending
the amount of the claim asserted by the plaintiff
a description of the property
the name of the person whose estate is intended to be affected thereby,
and in an action to enforce a zoning ordinance a description of the alleged violation, shall be admitted to record in the clerk's office of the circuit court of the county or the city wherein the property is located;)(8.01-268. (A))

This was a seamless process. It probably took one minute to fill out my information and upload the document. It was formatted and sent immediately. It was processed the next day at the county recorders office. I have zero complaints. Before finding this company I spent an entire day calling and leaving messages at other e-filing companies like simplfile and others but they all required subscriptions. I just needed to file a single document now and then so that was not a good fit. (And those companies I found out still require the customer to do all the work!). The process was fast and efficient. I did get a bit confused after entering info for my package but soon realized I had completed this part of the process and only needed to leave the page and wait for review of the document and then the invoice. It was pretty simple. After payment of the invoice I was notified that the document had been submitted. A few hours later I received notice that the document was recorded by the city. It was fast!
