StatewideA page of a legal paper that fails one or more of the requirements of Local Government Code § 191.007(b) through (g) is charged twice the regular filing or recording fee for that page. Type size, and a missing heading where the paper complies with Property Code § 11.008(c), do not trigger the increase. An instrument conveying an interest in real property that lacks a mailing address for each grantee may be recorded on payment of a penalty filing fee equal to the greater of $25 or twice the statutory recording fee (Property Code § 11.003).
Plat filings (approved through Commissioners Court; required plat size 18 x 24 inches): $55.00 recording fee including recording sheet, $4.00 each additional attachment or tax certificate, $50.00 each additional plat page (Loc. Gov't Code § 118.011(c)). Federal tax lien/release recording fee $10.00 and state tax lien/release recording fee $5.00 (Property Code § 14.005). Copies emailed from electronic format: $1.00 per document up to 10 pages, $0.10 per page over 10. Returned check charge $30.00.
