About Phillips County Recorder

The Clerk and Recorder is responsible for recording and maintaining real property records in Phillips County.

Recording Fees

To record a standard document, the fee is $8 per page.

For non-standard documents, add a $10 document fee.

Copies of documents are $0.50 for the first page of the document and $0.25 for each page after. If you want it certified, it is the copy charge plus $2.00 to certify it.

Certificate of surveys are $25.00 plus $0.50 for each tract or lot.

Plats are $10.00 plus $0.50 for each tract or lot.

Document Formatting Requirements

* Real property documents must be on white paper, size 8.5 x 11 inches or 8.5 x 14 inches.

* Printing should be in black ink with a font size of 10 point.

* A 3 inch margin should be used at the top of the first page of a real property document. Subsequent top margins should be 1 inch.

* On the bottom of each page, margins should be 1 inch. Side margins should be at least 1/2 inch on all pages.

* On the first or second page of the document, provide the names of the parties to conveyance.

* The first page should also include a legal description of the property.

* Within the 3 inch top margin on the first page, include the name and mailing address of the person to whom the document needs to be returned.

* Documents that are acknowledged as having been executed before April 28, 2007 will be considered standard documents, regardless of whether they conform to these requirements.

* Notary acknowledgements are exempt from the typeface, font color, and size requirements.

* Any party transferring real property is required to submit a realty transfer certificate when submitting a deed for recordation.
