Land records in Hamilton County are recorded by the County Recorder. The office is held by Trini Beaver.
Online access through Laredo Anywhere (monthly subscription, $1.00 per printed page) and Tapestry ($8.75 per search, $1.00 per printed page). Historical deed indexes from 1870 to 1963 are also online. New documents usually appear online within 24 hours of recording. Staff will not search records. Plat copies are available only in the office or by email to platrequest@hamiltoncounty.in.gov.

StatewideWhere the county recorder has elected to attest to the release, partial release, or assignment of any mortgage, judgment, lien, or oil and gas lease on a multiple transaction document, each transaction after the first is $7 plus the $25 fee. Release of political subdivision liens on property sold or transferred under IC 6-1.1-24-6.1 or IC 36-1-11: $25 per parcel. Copies of pages larger than 11 x 17 inches: $5 per page. Counties may add an affordable housing fee of $10 per document by ordinance (IC 36-2-7-10(c)(9)); Marion County fees are set under IC 36-2-7-10.5 and 10.7. No fee is charged to record official bonds of public officers.
Mechanic's Lien, including one mail out: $25.00; each additional mail out: $2.00. UCC including Continuation, Amendment, Assignment and Search: $25.00. Plats and Surveys: $25.00, first page and each additional page $5.00; maximum size for a Plat is 18 x 24. Transfer on Death Deeds are reviewed by the Auditor's office in Hamilton County, and fees are collected there.

StatewideDocuments may not contain an individual's Social Security number unless required by law, and must carry the statement: "I affirm, under the penalties for perjury, that I have taken reasonable care to redact each Social Security number in this document, unless required by law (name)." at the conclusion of the instrument, immediately preceding or following the prepared-by statement. Instruments must bear an acknowledgment or a proof. Conveyances must state the tax statement mailing address and the grantee's mailing address at the end of the conveyance, immediately preceding or following the statements required by IC 36-2-11-15. The formatting standards of IC 36-2-11-16.5 do not apply to court judgments, orders, or writs; wills or death certificates; plats; or surveys.

Deeds must first be reviewed by the Assessor's Office (2nd floor) and transferred by the Auditor's Office (1st floor, Transfer & Mapping) before recording on the 3rd floor. The Auditor's Office does not accept documents after 4:00 p.m. The Recorder's deadline, other than for mechanics liens, is 4:15 p.m.
