About the Crawford County Register of Deeds

Land records in Crawford County are recorded by the Register of Deeds. The office is held by Sandy Casey.

StatewideReal estate sales validation questionnaires are not filed of record; the register of deeds retains them for five years and then destroys them.

Records can be searched online through Laredo or Tapestry back to 1979; the earliest records in the office date to 1869. Military discharges are recorded at no charge to veterans. All records are open except the Kansas Real Estate Validation Questionnaire and military records.

StatewideIf sufficient space is not provided for the necessary recording information and certification, that information is placed on an added sheet counted as a page. All documents must be original (no copies). The notary stamp must be legible. A contact name and phone number are requested. Mortgage and oil and gas lease assignments and releases should refer to the original instrument by names, legal description, book and page, and date recorded; assignments should also give the assignee's complete address.
