StatewideBy statute, county clerk fees are flat fees uniform throughout the state regardless of the recording method used. Plats: $10.00 for one block or less; $25.00 for more than one block. Mechanics' or materialmen's liens: $10.00, which includes the release; $8.00 plus actual postage for preparing and mailing notice; $2.00 for each additional page or exhibit.

Paying the office
StatewideA county clerk may accept payment for fees by automated clearing house or by a nationally recognized debit or credit card; when payment is by card, an amount equal to the service charge is added.
Transfer tax
Documentary Stamp Tax. Seventy-five cents ($0.75) for each Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) of the consideration or any fractional part thereof. The tax is collected when the document is recorded. (statewide, 68 O.S. § 3201)
StatewideThe documentary stamp tax applies when the consideration or value, exclusive of liens remaining, exceeds $100.00, and is limited to conveyances of realty sold (68 O.S. § 3201). Exemptions are listed in 68 O.S. § 3202. A separate real estate mortgage tax under 68 O.S. § 1904 is levied at ten cents ($0.10) for each $100.00 and each remaining fraction where the mortgage is for five years or more, with lower rates for shorter terms. The county treasurer also collects a $5.00 fee on each mortgage presented for certification.

StatewideThe 2-inch top margin applies to all documents, not only the first page. Documents must leave an area free of printed information large enough for documentary stamps, mortgage tax certification, and the clerk's recording information. Stray markings or part of a signature in the margin do not void acceptance, and no fee or fine is charged for them.
The county clerk notes that a three-inch top margin would be ideal, allowing placement of the return address on the left side and the recording stamp on the right side. If sufficient blank space is not provided, an additional page must be attached, which increases the page count and filing fees.
StatewideInstruments affecting specific real property must be an original or a certified copy of an original and must describe the property by its specific legal description. A clerk must accept a nonconforming document if it is an original or certified copy, legible without magnification, xerographically reproducible, meets all other statutory requirements, and the nonconforming fee is paid. Where more than 25 legal descriptions need separate index entries, they must be sorted by addition, block, and lot, or by township, range, and section.
