Fee schedule effective July 1, 2013.
StatewideAdditional recording charge for each section (including quarter and quarter-quarter, if applicable), block, lot or tract description in excess of ten (10): $1.00. Plats filed (including cemeteries and amended plats): $75.00. Military discharge and separation papers (first recording): no charge. No individual, corporation or governmental entity is exempt from payment of fees in advance. A county clerk may charge a reasonable fee for a copy or a reproduction of a public record, but the fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the record.
Copy of public record: $0.35 plus tax. Fax fee (incoming and outgoing) up to five pages, plus applicable copy fees: $1.00. Mailing fee up to five pages, plus applicable copy fees: $1.00. Applicable copy fees will be added for certification of documents. Records of Survey/Maps: $50.00.
Transfer tax
No transfer tax. None is collected when a document is recorded. (statewide)

StatewideOnly instruments which are the originally signed documents, including electronic documents recorded pursuant to the Uniform Real Property Electronic Recording Act, or properly certified or authenticated copies thereof may be properly recorded. The county clerk shall require any person presenting a document for recording which is legible but not sufficiently clear to produce a readable copy to substitute a clear original or legible true copy of the original document. Execution of deeds, mortgages or other conveyances of lands shall be acknowledged before any notarial officer.
Documents may be double-sided; each side counts as a page to calculate fees. No additional fees based on the size of the paper. A copy cannot be recorded. While cover letters are not required, they are appreciated.
