Online real estate images include Historical Index Books from 1806-1833, Deeds back to 1810, Plats back to 1910 and Liens back to 2003. A computer search terminal is available in the Deed and Records' Room on the second floor of the courthouse; there is a $5 fee for 4 hours of access.

StatewideMaps and plats are $10.00 per page. Fees under O.C.G.A. § 15-6-77(f) include recording and returning the document.

Transfer tax

Real estate transfer tax. $1.00 for the first $1,000.00 or fractional part of $1,000.00 and at the rate of 10¢ for each additional $100.00 or fractional part of $100.00. The tax is collected when the document is recorded. (statewide, O.C.G.A. § 48-6-1)

StatewideIntangible recording tax: $1.50 per each $500.00 or fraction thereof of the face amount of all notes secured, levied on each instrument securing one or more long-term notes secured by real property; maximum tax on a single security instrument is $25,000 (O.C.G.A. § 48-6-61; Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 560-11-8-.02).

Effective July 1, 2025, House Bill 586 (2025) amends O.C.G.A. § 48-6-60(3): a note is considered long-term if any portion of the principal is due more than 62 months from the date of the note or from the date of any instrument executed to secure the note.
