Georgia Recorders Information

Register of Deeds

You are NOT on the Georgia official website, you are on Deeds.com, a private website that is not affiliated with any government agency.

Real property records are maintained by the Clerk of Court in the county where the property is located.

Real estate deeds that transfer property in Georgia can be recorded to provide constructive notice of the transfer. There is no time limit for recording the deed but it is in the best interest of the grantee to have the deed recorded as soon as possible to avoid losing position in the chain of title to another deed (Georgia State Statute 44-2-1).
