Document Requirements
Confirm current requirements with the recorder's office before submitting documents.
* Documents recorded in Denton County must pertain to real property located in Denton County.* All real property documents should have a legal description of the property.
* Documents need to have original signatures that have been proven, acknowledged, or sworn to according to law in order to be recordable.
* Deeds must have a grantee address, for tax purposes. All documents must also include a return address.
* A facsimile copy is accepted only if it is on 8.5 x 11 paper or 8.5 x 14 paper, but all signatures must be original
* Any document that transfers an interest in real property must include the following "Notice of Confidentiality Rights:" NOTICE OF CONFIDENTIALITY RIGHTS: IF YOU ARE A NATURAL PERSON, YOU MANY REMOVE OR STRIKE ANY OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION FROM ANY INSTRUMENT THAT TRANSFERS AN INTEREST IN REAL PROPERTY BEFORE IT IS FILED FOR RECORD IN THE PUBLIC RECORDS: YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER OR YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE NUMBER.
