When filing a case affecting title to real property or at any time after, as long as the case is pending, any party to the suit may file a Pendency of Action. To be effective it must be recorded at the Recorder of Deeds/ Clerks Office in every county where said property is located. (The notice shall be recorded in the same book and in the same manner in which mortgages are recorded.) From the time of recording, the Notice of Pendency, becomes constructive notice to would be purchasers or encumbrancers. Such Notice will contain (the names of the parties, the object of the suit, and the description of the real property in the county involved, affected, or brought in question, signed by the party or the attorney of the party.) (ORS 93.740)

My county accessors office recommended this site. My Uncle passed away and did not leave a will and I needed to have his deed transferred into my name. Not knowing I could down load these forms, I first went to the local recording office thinking I could get info on the forms I needed. I was told that obviously you dont know what you are doing so find someone who does. This snippy clerk obviously didnt know the forms were accessible on line; either that or she was needing to feel her phony superiority.

They must have busy when I applied. The screen said it should be done in under10 mins unless heavier traffic. I was a little nervous because of a time deadline. It was completed in 45 mins and for under $30 it was worth every penny to have my deed details at my fingertips. So I give it a 5 on ease of use and quick handling. You can get it done less expensively, but great in a time crunch.
