Releasing a Mechanic's Lien in Oklahoma
Liens that expire or are otherwise no longer valid must be released. In order to release property from a mechanic's lien, a lien release form needs to be executed. There is no statutory lien release form, although under principles of contract law and the potential for civil damages caused by the lien, a lien claimant should release property when the lien is no longer justified.
In Oklahoma, the lien claimant must execute a form stating the lien has been paid off and should therefore be released and discharged from the record by the county clerk. The clerk is then authorized and directed to enter the satisfaction of the Lien onto the Lien Journal.

After some initial general confusion -- (we sold a small piece of land privately and therefore do not typically prepare such documentation (!)) -- we were able to purchase and download all forms from Deeds.com and understand how to complete it/them. The help is all there, we just needed to read and study it - the "Example" helped alot. We were able to complete the Document per your online form(s) and then take it to be signed/notarized - and take the completed paper document to the Registry -- and it is now all registered and we are All Set. This was such a money saver. I was told by someone at the courthouse that I had to have a lawyer prepare the paper work for my mom. They stated that family members couldn't prepare the papers.
