In Maine, liens that have been paid off or satisfied for any other reason should be properly discharged by filing a lien release in the country registry of deeds in the county where the lien was originally recorded. Maine does not require any specific statutory form for releasing a lien, although under common law principles of contract, the claimant is entitled to do so.

A release of lien form identifies the parties, the project's location, relevant dates and payments, and filing information about the recorded lien. Submit the signed, notarized release to the same county office where the underlying lien was filed.

This is the simplest way to record a deed ever. Just uploaded the deed and the professionals at deed.com did the rest. Within 8 hours, I had my recorded deed back. The price is fantastic. It would have cost me more in gas to drive to the county where I had to record the deed.

Forms do not allow enough space for fields and cutoff. Need to expand the fields to allow for more writing. I ended up re-typing to be able to include full property description. Would be nice if available in Word format rather than only PDF format.

After calling many places and going on many websites to figure out what I needed to submit (most counties cannot help with questions and the place I needed to turn the documents into could not help either, they are not allowed to give legal advice) I came across Deeds.com. Very fast and efficient. Easy to fill out but was upset the latest tax exemptions ruled in 2014 did not seem to be included. Exclusion of sale to blood relatives, etc. _ the one I needed.
