Under the Maine Statutes, the beneficiary of an interest in property may renounce the gift, either in part or in full (2-905). Note that the option to do so is only available to beneficiaries who have not acted in any way to indicate acceptance or ownership of the interest (2-913(A)).
The renunciation must be in writing and include a description of the interest, a declaration of intent to renounce all or a defined portion of the interest, and be signed by the renouncing party ( 2-905(3)).
A disclaimer becomes irrevocable when it is delivered or filed pursuant to section 2-912 or when it becomes effective as provided in sections 2-906 to 2-911, whichever occurs later.
2-908. Disclaimer of interest by trustee
If a trustee disclaims an interest in property that otherwise would have become trust property, the interest does not become trust property.
2-916. Application to existing relationships
Except as otherwise provided in section 2-913, an interest in or power over property existing on September 1, 2019 as to which the time for delivering or filing a disclaimer under law superseded by this Part has not expired may be disclaimed after September 1, 2019.

The process was easy and cost was reasonable. My only suggestion is to allow user the ability to shorten the space between the county and state and the space after the month. I needed to draw a line at the courthouse before they would file it.
Your feedback is valuable to us and helps us improve. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

The Deeds.com site made is relatively simple to download a Beneficiary Deed form specific to St Louis, which is great, because neither the city or state provide this. Thanks!
Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate it. Have a great day!

A better or more simplified explanation of what some of the more common titles would be used for would help. You list 6-8 types of Trusts alone. An example of doing a Grant Deed to move a property into, out of, or from a Trust to a Trust would have been helpful.
Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate it. Have a great day!

I thought the forms were reasonably priced, the instructions included in the packet were thorough, and the examples helpful. Thank you for the additional CDR forms too. I contacted the Recorder's office via email with a question and Jennifer Bowser answered promptly. Job well done! However, when I delivered the deed and Real Property Transfer Declaration to the Clerk's office in Lafayette, the clerk was unfamiliar with the Declaration document being submitted and it took some time to convince her to submit the form without charging the recording fee. She even tried to phone the recorder's office for clarification, but no one answered. There then was an additional form at that office that I had to complete called Recording Request/Transmittal Form. I would suggest including that form with instructions in your on-line packet to speed up the process when a Deed is delivered to the County Clerk's satellite office. I do not expect every clerk to know all the particulars of recording requirements but a little knowledge wouldn't hurt.
Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate it. Have a great day!
